INTEGRATION PSYCHOTHERAPY
Integration Psychotherapy is a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model that brings together the rigour of neuroscience and evidence-based psychological and therapeutic methods, with the knowledge and understanding of the contemplative wisdom traditions.
Through this lens, I offer a holistic approach to therapy that considers you and your field of experience as unique, multisensory, and multidimensional. Just as a plant will grow depending on the soil and conditions it's planted in, so I consider each person as being informed and shaped by the environment and experiences in which they develop.

I bring my open curiosity and a belief that you have the answers inside you; it's just a case of asking the right questions.

"At its heart, Integration Psychotherapy understands that healing is not something we do to a client, but a process we facilitate with them,
so that their system can regenerate itself—creating not only relief from suffering,
but a life that reflects their deepest values, desires, and purpose."

A HOLISTIC APPROACH
Whether you're new to therapy or you've had previous experience speaking with a mental health professional, I know the vulnerability and courage it takes to seek help.

I can support you if you're experiencing depression, anxiety, overwhelm, difficulty in work or personal relationships, as well as trauma and stress.

Life is often complicated and hard, and we are living in fast-moving, unprecedented times. Sometimes the mental, emotional, or physical symptoms speak loudly, and sometimes they're like a whisper, making it difficult to put your finger on exactly what is troubling you.
It has never been easier to check out, or bypass, rather than check in. We have devices to distract us, entertainment, and substances to numb us, and busy schedules that never allow us the time to slow down long enough to really feel what is going on inside for us.

-
Perhaps when friends and family ask how you are, there is something else going on underneath the 'fine'?
-
Perhaps you are the one others lean on for advice and support, and it feels unfamiliar for you to seek help from others?
-
Perhaps you were raised to 'just get on with it'?
-
Perhaps your old ways of coping and 'just getting on' don't seem to be working anymore?
-
Perhaps the life you created no longer seems to fit, like a jumper that feels too tight?
-
Perhaps you lie awake at night worrying, unable to turn off the anxious thoughts?

Finally acknowledging and being with the thoughts and emotions we've avoided for so long can feel daunting.
Whatever is troubling you, and if you're unable to confide in a family member or friend, it can be helpful to explore it with someone independent, outside your immediate circle.

THE MEANING OF THE SYMBOL

The symbol of the triangle with the line through is a useful reminder of Carl Jung's model of the psyche.
Representing the shape of an iceberg it can be seen as a metaphor for the mind. The conscious aspects of the self are represented by the portion that sits above the line, or the surface of the water, within our awareness, accessible through everyday thoughts, feelings, and sensations.

What we know we know.

Then there is the larger portion below the line or surface of awareness, that which is unconscious, forgotten, or repressed. (Some traditions describe this as the shadow).
So much of how we think, feel, and interact with ourselves and the world around us comes from what rests here in the depths of the unconscious and subconscious mind, and deep within the tissues of our body.

Integration Psychotherapy seeks to gently access these deeper, hidden layers to recover the wholeness at the core of who we are.
(And like all symbols, it can also be interpreted in multiple ways, including as the elemental symbol for air and, for me, resembling the letter A).
