INTEGRATION PSYCHOTHERAPY

Integration Psychotherapy is a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model that brings together evidence-based psychological and therapeutic methods with the knowledge and understanding of the contemplative wisdom traditions.

It is a holistic approach that considers each person and their field of experience as unique and multidimensional. Just as a plant will grow depending on the soil and conditions it's planted in, so we think of each person as being informed and shaped by the environment and experiences in which they develop.

A flexible, relational, co-creative method, I'm able to respond to your specific needs, addressing what is most relevant, vital, and alive in the moment.

I bring my open curiosity and a belief that you have the answers inside you; it's just a case of asking the right questions.

"At its heart, Integration Psychotherapy understands that healing is not something we do to a client, but a process we facilitate with them,

so that their system can regenerate itself—creating not only relief from suffering,

but a life that reflects their deepest values, desires, and purpose."

A HOLISTIC APPROACH

Whether you're new to therapy or you've had previous experience speaking with a mental health professional, I know the vulnerability and courage it takes to seek help.

I can support you if you're experiencing depression, anxiety, overwhelm, difficulty in work or personal relationships, as well as trauma and stress.

Life is often complicated and hard, and we are living in unprecedented times.

Sometimes it can be difficult to put your finger on what might be troubling you, and it can be easy to avoid uncomfortable feelings. We have devices to distract us, entertainment, and substances to numb us, and often busy schedules that never give us the opportunity to slow down long enough to really feel what is going on inside for us.

Sometimes the mental, emotional, or physical symptoms speak loudly, and sometimes they're like a whisper.

Finally acknowledging and being with the thoughts and emotions we've avoided for so long can feel daunting.

  • Perhaps when people ask how you are, your response of 'fine' doesn't feel true?

  • Perhaps you are the one others lean on for advice and support, and it feels uncomfortable for you to seek help from others?

  • Perhaps you were raised to not complain but to just get on?

  • Perhaps your old ways of coping and 'just getting on' don't seem to be working anymore?

  • Perhaps the life you created no longer seems to fit, like a sweater that feels too tight?

  • Perhaps you live with fear, sadness, despair, and hopelessness as a background hum to your day?

  • Perhaps you lie awake at night worrying, unable to turn off the anxious thoughts?

Whatever is troubling you, it can be helpful to explore it together.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation so you can find out more.

THE ICEBERG

AirMED2.png

Like all symbols the image above can mean different things for different people.

For me, the triangle with the line through is a useful reminder of Carl Jung's model of the psyche (as well as being the elemental symbol for air and resembling the letter A).

Representing the shape of an iceberg it can be seen as a metaphor for how we might think about the mind. The conscious aspects of the self are represented by the portion that sits above the line, or the surface of the water, within our awareness, accessible through everyday thoughts, feelings, and sensations.

What we know we know.

Then there is the larger portion below the line or surface of awareness, that which is unconscious, forgotten, or repressed.

So much of how we think, feel, and interact with ourselves and the world around us comes from what rests here in the depths of the unconscious and subconscious mind, and deep within the tissues of our body.

Integration Psychotherapy seeks to gently access these deeper, hidden layers to recover the wholeness at the core of who you are.
